Inviting a young, female, German activist to write this feels like ragebaiting by The Economist.
I think she's right about everything, but they could easily have got a bunch of gray haired older men with finance backgrounds like Kingsmill Bond to put this message across to their readers as a basic economic fact rather than a moral imperstive with a far different emotional impact on the kind of person who is skeptical on this topic.
