I would really like to have a browser extension to run articles through a "Simple English" filter as proposed by Rudolf Flesch a long time ago. LLMs seem pretty useful as a first draft.

As is, I find these kind of high-falutin, prolix and grandiloquent wikipedia articles a pain to read.

Where sublimation is the redirection of socially unacceptable impulses or desires into socially acceptable actions, desublimation refers to the acceptance of these impulses and desires, removing the energies otherwise available for higher goals.

Presumably they’re referring to jazz.
